LIFECHURCH TAYTAY. Pastor Simeon ‘Jun’ Clores, a dynamic and innovative young pastor. He’s one of the ‘Batang LRC’, someone who grew up in the church and started as youth leader. Two years ago, he accepted the challenge to lead Taytay Church through the encouragement of his former pastor and mentor, Ptra. Chie Libao. He recalled those times that the church was just starting. Their struggle for food, finances, and a fellowship hall with a roof made of sacks for a year made them strong in God. There was a time in eight years as Taytay’s associate pastor, that he could no longer stand seeing them in such situation, he asked God about their privilege as His children. “If we are your children Lord, I believe that there are great things that are in store for us, for we are children of the king!” said Ptr. Jun. God had seen their faithfulness in His work in Taytay and they gradually enjoyed the fruits of their labor. They were able to raise P150,000 for a church building. Their church lot was freely given to them through the benevolence of Ptr. Troi Calangi, one of their faithful workers and currently assigned to pastor in Narra. They did not choose to become a burden to the main church, they did on their own and was able to build their church.
Today, LifeChurch Taytay was one of the cutting edge municipal churches. They were also privileged to start the first branch of LifeCollege and become one of the best fully-airconditioned classrooms in Taytay with 38 students. Ptr. Jun and his wife Luz sacrificed their two-month allowance to support the school and they received tremendous blessings. Truly we cannot outgive the Lord. He also intends to bring the transforming ‘culture’ of LifeChurch to the people of Taytay.
Greatest Frustration/Fear. It was when Ptr. Jun made a decision to put someone in leadership that he did not know well. Later on, the man insinuated rebellion and went against the church. But God did not allow him to succeed and by his grace, the church overcame the enemy’s work. Just like any ordinary Christian, Ptr. Jun sometimes fear of going back to his old, sinful life. But he continued to trust God despite his fears and know that he can get through it by the power of His Spirit.
